JAGFest 2014 - Nov 4 - Puffy Amphiteater

With one day of the festival down and three days passing since, the next destination of JAGFest takes the interdimensional supergroup to the world of the band’s only two ‘actual’ musicians; Puffy AmiYumi. The duo led their friends to the new venue of the Puffy Amphitheater, another outdoor location much like that in Domino except made specifically for the use of the duo, or the closely associated Team JAG Band. It was indeed a busy day for the two as they not only got themselves prepared and show their friends around, particularly the royal guests, but also served as the hosts of the event, making occasional announcements and appearances when necessary. But as crazy as the day was, the numerous events that included music seminars, charity drives and various game and hobby activities kept all of the concertgoers and performers alike very entertained.

Among the crowd, a certain alicorn princess and her family were being escorted around by Team Sonic, the former gaining knowledge of yet another new world and what it had to offer. On more than one occasion, the youngest of the family trio would want to go one direction where the oldest sought to learn in another, so Tails would lead some of his home world friends and Twilight one way as Cosmo and the others took Nyx and Spike elsewhere. For both parties, it was all-around fun, but for the escorted Equestrians, it was becoming a new adventure, and a small talk between Nyx and Cosmo.

But a busy day always stay busy, and for Ami and Yumi, it was one of the busiest they’ve had in weeks, with no help from their manager Kaz, who was off in his own world of ‘green greatness,’ as he put it. It became so busy for the girls that the band jumped in and helped out however they could, including Tails escorting Cosmo, Twilight, Nyx, Spike and Team Sonic to their reserved seats in the audience. Phineas and Ferb also helped out by setting up most of the instruments to be used that night so that the band could hold their huddle early.

The duo expressed all the gratitude possible before taking out to the stage just as Ferb activated the show’s introductory song, with Yumi holding a microphone, and Ami possessing her favorite Les Paul guitar. Two spotlights shined down on them as they approached the maximum-capacity crowd, who cheered loudly and proudly for their world’s iconic musicians, before Yumi took a chance to speak.

“ARE YOU READY FOR THE BIG SHOW, MY PUFFY POSSE?!” Yumi’s question was answered with a roaring cheer from the entire crowd, just to her liking. “We know you’ve been waiting for this all day, but I need to really hear you. Tell me again- ARE… YOU… READY?!!!” The response was the greatest that she had ever heard from any JAGFest held in that dimension.

Ami took her turn to talk and said “Welcome to the main event of today! Tonight’s themes include a whole lot of great duets, a theme that you voted for, along with most of the songs you’ll be hearing. First up is one of the newest songs we have yet to play with our friends, so let’s get right to it. Ladies and Gentlemen… MAKE SOME NOISE FOR THE TEAM JAG BAND!!!” A final uproar from the crowd for the introduction was made as members of the band joined the girls on stage, taking their positions for the first song. When the audio song had faded out, the show had finally begun…

“What’s going on, Puffy Amphitheater?!” Yugi called out to the audience, who responded with a thunderous cheer. “Welcome to our third year of JAGFest here with all of you, and in case you didn’t hear Ami earlier, our theme for tonight- duets.” He paused for a moment to hear the crowd let out a smaller cheer. “Duets are a lot of fun for us, because we end up in lineups that are outside our normal routines, and you never know what might happen. That, and some of the best songs do involve having at least two vocalists working together to give music justice. Now, this next song, a cover of a cover, will require me to get some help from one of my best friends; Ash Ketchum…”

A light then shined onto where Ash was standing, up between the main drum kit and Ami’s kit, and the crowd welcomed the sight with another roaring cheer. “Do we have any Queen fans here tonight?!” he asked the audience, and received another cheer in return. “Then we have one song that was done by not one band, but two! I want to hear you singing with us, and I want to see you share your energy like us! This song is called- Under Pressure…”

Following the last song was a few moments in darkness as all the lights on the stage went out, with only the echoing sounds of a whispering lyric. It was after the moments would pass that Jason was shown under a light with the devil horns raised in the air with one hand, and a microphone in the other. He looked up at the audience, making his turn to speak as brief as he could allow himself.

“YOU ARE ALL INCREDIBLE TONIGHT!” he exclaimed, earning a crashing wave of applause and cheering from the audience. “I want to keep that energy going all night tonight, and carried over to every show for the entire festival! For this next song, I want to see more circle pits and jumping and fist-pumping than I’ve ever seen from this dimension… YOU FUCKERS WITH ME OR WHAT?!” After earning another loud cheer, he concluded talking with “Then let’s take a look in the creativity of Suicide Silence, and Jonathon Davis…”

“What’s going on, people? You having fun tonight or what?!” Ron called out to the crowd, who answered him with a good cheer in his ears. “For those who don’t know me, the name’s Ron Stoppable, one of the band’s two newest compadres, and it’s an honor to play here in your world for the first time! To keep going with our theme tonight, I’d like to introduce you to the second newest band member, and my beautiful and wonderful fiancé- KIM POSSIBLE!”

Kim walked out onto the stage next, followed by the Master Four to complete the next song’s lineup. While the four got themselves positioned on the higher portion of the stage, Kim walked up to Ron, hugged his side, and then turned to the cheering crowd. “Who’s ready to keep this show going?” she asked them, earning an even louder cheer. “So we’ve been playing almost all the songs off from a band’s EP, and we’re continuing that with you tonight. This next song, by the band Unsaid Fate, is my favorite off that entire EP. It is called…

“Memories.”

Gohan stood on top of a small riser, one of three that sat across the stage’s edge, with Ash and Yugi standing on them respectively. Using the microphone he grabbed off a nearby microphone stand, he talked to the ever-excited audience. “You guys are, without a doubt, one of the most dedicated worlds of rock and metal we’ve ever seen. I want to take a chance to thank you all for supporting the music, for supporting us, and most importantly, supporting your friends and ours- Ami and Yumi. Give yourselves a round of applause for that, everyone!” Another cheer with the louder sounds of clapping erupted from the crowd for several seconds before he continued to speak.

“Speaking of whom, we hoped you like that last song. You guys were the debut audience for the girls to perform something from some new metal favorites of ours, the Butcher Babies. But at the same time, it makes me think that we have to step it up on the heavy metal side next. This next batch of songs should do just that, and this next song is hands-down my personal favorite by this band. For those of you who don’t know it, learn it from those who do, for we’re about to enter the territory, of Fear Factory…” The lights faded on the stage as the next song began to play, with the audience cheering excitedly as the concert continued again.

As the next song faded, Ami returned to the stage, handing Gohan one of his Flying V guitars as a trade for his microphone. Her return caused the audience to uproar louder than they have been for several songs, including the crowd’s couple of ponies and Mobius visitors. Having already spoken out to the audience, she talked to them again briefly. “I think it’s time that you guys deserve another new surprise. It’s time for another brand new song from a new band we heard about quite a few months back. We hope you enjoy it like I have. It’s probably my favorite song by this new band called… Lullacry.”

“ARE YOU STILL WITH US, MOTHERFUCKERS?!” Jason exclaimed, from the highest back riser behind the drum kits, to which his answer came as another thundering roar of cheering. He then grinned, and continued on to say “All I can say to you is about how this year’s JAGFest will break new boundaries, more so than when we decided to take on the ride for the first a couple years ago. All our home worlds, a new world that has welcomed us to their home, and the home of this band itself, they will ALL be a part of fucking history, and I thank you all for being a part of history tonight!” With barely a pause to let the crowd respond before he concluded with “From this point out, it is your turn, to take the OATH… TO THE ABYSS!...”

The last song concluded with all those currently on stage departing, leaving a short time of emptiness as the next lineup prepared to go on, all but one. Tails emerged out on stage, with one of his new Les Paul guitars he received as a gift from an iconic guitarist. Under the limelight, the audience erupted towards insanity at the sight of the iconic fox the moment he stepped out, and he looked out at it and enjoyed every bit of it, but the one sight he could see from a planet away was the smile across Cosmo’s face, and a little black alicorn filly jumping up and down and cheering with everyone else.

He stepped up to his microphone stand, placed his guitar in position, and waved out to those who were to join him for the next song from the side of the stage. Stepping out next were Ami, Yumi and Dan, who all went straight into their positions for the next song with a welcoming applause. Tails took to his microphone and said “As you can see, this is the rare ‘non-Master Four’ moment of our set tonight. I was asked to throw in a few songs for this set, including this next one that was done by the same legend who gave me this guitar, who goes by the name of Slash. As a treat for us, we’ll be having fun with a little jam session, and show our friend Twilight another fun sample of how we work together to play music. So go ahead, and-“ He then said the song’s title, and the quartet immediately started performing again.

Shikashi, sore made…” Then the two girls joined together to exclaim as loud as possible “WE ARE THE TEAM JAG BAND! THANK YOU ALL! GOOD NIGHT!!!”
